From a small idea to a mission to redefine everyday safety.

Starting as just a project for university, I soon saw the reach Venus had and its potential to change lives.

Created by a university student who's been in these situations, Venus aims to help make everyday safer for you and your loved ones.

"Venus began long before it had a name. It started with the small moments, like walking home with keys between my fingers, or pretending to talk on the phone, or sharing live locations with friends and family, checking behind me, and doing everything women are taught to do to feel 'safer'.

I realised I wasn’t alone. Every woman I spoke to shared the same stories, the same fears, and the same exhausting mental load. It didn’t sit right with me that the responsibility always fell on us.

I wanted something that supported women without asking them to carry even more.
Something discreet. Something intuitive. Something that simply fit into real life.

That’s when Venus began to take shape."

So, what started as frustration became a mission. I didn’t want Venus to be another bulky safety gadget that makes women feel watched or judged. I wanted it to feel like jewellery, like something you’d choose to wear anyway.

Inside that discreet design is technology that's designed to support you when you need it most. Not to create fear, but to give you confidence.

Venus isn’t just about a bracelet. It’s about redefining what safety can feel like - quiet, intuitive, and empowering.

Building Venus with women's voices

Venus has been shaped by conversations, surveys, and lived experiences from hundreds of women. Students, young professionals, night-shift workers, travellers - they all told me the same thing:

"I want something that doesn't make me look paranoid"

"I want something that doesn't make me look paranoid"

"I want something that doesn't make me look paranoid"

"I want something discreet"

"I want something discreet"

"I want something I'd actually wear"

"I want something I'd actually wear"

So that’s exactly what Venus became.

Not perfect. Not final. But thoughtfully designed with women at the centre.

So… where are we now?

Since that first idea, Venus has grown into a fully developed design project - a wearable bracelet paired with an app that supports you quietly and quickly when you need help.

We’re now refining the hardware, finalising the bracelet mould, developing the app, and preparing for our first Kickstarter launch.

This is just the beginning, but the mission to help women feel more confident and less alone is quickly taking shape and building traction.
